December is here—the final stretch of the year and a season packed with both joy and challenges. While it’s often called "the most wonderful time of the year," many of us feel the weight of unfinished goals, family obligations, and the darker, colder days. It’s a time when the finish line is in sight, but the race feels exhausting.
Being a coach I understand how overwhelming December can be. That’s why I’ve put together these tips to help you navigate this busy season with clarity, energy, and a renewed sense of self.
1. Reflect on What You DID Achieve
It’s easy to focus on what didn’t get done. But take a moment to look back and celebrate your wins, big or small. Maybe you achieved unexpected bonus milestones you hadn’t even planned for this year. Those count, too! Acknowledging your progress can help you enter the new year with pride rather than frustration.
2. Take Time for Yourself
December is packed with social events, celebrations, and family obligations. But remember, you don’t have to accept every invitation. It’s okay to say no and carve out time for yourself to breathe, recharge, and relax.
3. Prioritize What’s Important to YOU
Both at work and in your personal life, there’s always a list of activities that need to be wrapped up before the year ends. But here’s the secret: not everything has to happen right now. Focus on what truly matters to you, and give yourself permission to postpone what can wait. Prioritizing your well-being isn’t selfish—it’s smart.
4. Lean Into What Gives You Energy
When you feel drained, it’s easy to fall into a cycle of doing things out of obligation. Instead, think about the activities that align with your core values and bring you joy. Whether it’s connecting with loved ones, journaling, or taking a brisk walk in nature, prioritize the things that energize you. If you’re unsure of your core values, we can help you discover them.
How to Thrive, Not Just Survive
December doesn’t have to be a sprint to the finish line. By taking care of yourself, reflecting on your achievements, and focusing on what truly matters, you can close the year with intention and purpose.
If you need help navigating this season or setting yourself up for success in the new year, I'm here for you. Let’s work together to create a plan that aligns with your goals and values.
